Package research so another person can continue it

A useful handoff preserves the question, evidence trail and unresolved work. The next researcher should be able to distinguish reviewed sources from leads.
Define the evidence boundary
Give the research teammate a bounded set of documents or an explicit source scope. Request references next to claims and keep observation separate from interpretation. An AI summary is not independent verification of a source. Where live web access is unavailable, work from the supplied snapshot and label its date rather than describing the findings as current.
Inputs for this workflow: Research notes, source files and remaining questions.
Work through the task
- Create an evidence index.
- Separate conclusions, uncertainties and unreviewed leads.
A brief you can adapt
Write handoff.md with the original question, supported findings, source map, gaps and suggested next checks. Include the snapshot date.
The filenames above are examples. Replace them with your actual inputs and destination before submitting the task.
Review the deliverable
Ask another reader to trace one conclusion and identify the next unresolved question using only the packet.
Where this approach can fail
Do not label a source reviewed just because its URL appears in the bibliography.
