Compare sources without flattening disagreements

Different sources may define the same term differently. Preserve scope and publication context before writing a combined answer.

Define the evidence boundary

Give the research teammate a bounded set of documents or an explicit source scope. Request references next to claims and keep observation separate from interpretation. An AI summary is not independent verification of a source. Where live web access is unavailable, work from the supplied snapshot and label its date rather than describing the findings as current.

Inputs for this workflow: A bounded set of source documents with titles and dates.

Work through the task

  1. Extract each source’s definition and evidence.
  2. Identify agreements and unresolved conflicts.

A brief you can adapt

Write a comparison table with claim, source, definition, evidence and disagreement. End with questions that require further verification.

The filenames above are examples. Replace them with your actual inputs and destination before submitting the task.

Review the deliverable

Check that the summary represents each source’s actual position rather than averaging incompatible claims.

Where this approach can fail

A more recent document is not automatically more authoritative for every question.
