How do I connect Discord private messages?

Create and install your Discord bot, then pair a direct message. OfficeCubs uses private messages for task submissions; posting in a server channel does not start work.

Before you begin

Messaging submits work to an existing desktop teammate. Keep OfficeCubs running, connected to the internet and able to use its AI tool. Check both the provider connection and the task result: a bot connection can be healthy while the selected work engine still needs attention.

Steps

1. Create an application and bot token in Discord’s developer setup.
2. Install it into a server with the bot scope.
3. Enter the token in OfficeCubs and verify.
4. Open the bot profile and send the displayed pairing command by DM.

Example

Use the server to find the bot’s profile, then move to the direct conversation for the pairing code and text task.

Check the result

Confirm that the connection is online and a DM produces a task in the desktop office.

Limits and troubleshooting

The current setup does not require privileged intents. If DMs fail, inspect privacy settings and connection status before broadening permissions.
