Schedules

Will schedules run while my laptop is asleep?

No desktop task can execute while the application and computer are unavailable. OfficeCubs schedules are local execution, not a hosted background worker.

Before you begin

Schedules are executed by the desktop app on your computer. The marketplace server does not take over when your laptop sleeps. Test the underlying task manually before scheduling it, and inspect the next run time in the selected timezone after saving or editing the schedule.

Steps

  1. Check the intended run time.
  2. Keep the computer awake and OfficeCubs running.
  3. Verify the AI tool still has access.
  4. Inspect the run afterward.

Example

A midnight draft scheduled on a laptop that sleeps at 22:00 will not execute at midnight merely because the marketplace server is online.

Check the result

Look for an actual task attempt and output file rather than relying only on the calendar entry.

Limits and troubleshooting

After an offline period, catch-up behavior is limited. Do not use a desktop schedule as a guaranteed always-on service.
