Teammates and skills
How do I use an existing role as a template?
Copying creates a new role for adaptation while preserving source information.

Copying creates a new role for adaptation while preserving source information. It does not edit the original template or automatically update employees recruited from it.
Before you begin
A teammate combines a role, working guide and selected resources. Character appearance does not determine the AI model. Local employees, creator drafts and marketplace publications are separate records: changing one does not automatically replace all the others. Review the relevant record before starting a task.
Steps
- Choose the role’s template or copy action.
- Review the inherited working guide and references.
- Change the deliverables for your use case.
- Test the new role locally.
Example
Adapt a general writer into a customer-onboarding writer by adding an approved vocabulary list, target audience and required troubleshooting section.
Check the result
Compare the new role with its source and check that inherited assumptions still fit your task.
Limits and troubleshooting
Retained author and source fields are declarations of provenance, not proof that every included instruction has a reusable license.
