When should I choose a local folder?

Use a local folder when the task needs an existing project or tools installed on your computer. The CLI runs as your local user, so this mode is not a security sandbox.

Before you begin

A workspace determines where a teammate executes work and saves files. The environment is captured with a task, so changing a teammate later does not rewrite an earlier task. Local execution and Docker isolation have different permissions; read the selected mode before submitting real project data.

Steps

  1. Choose a dedicated project directory.
  2. Back up important source files.
  3. Ask the teammate to save new deliverables in an outputs subfolder.

Example

For a documentation task, select a copy of the repository and request outputs/review.md rather than edits across unrelated projects.

Check the result

Inspect the selected path in Overview and confirm that generated files appear in the expected folder.

Limits and troubleshooting

Recruitment does not make local execution isolated. The CLI’s own permissions and available tools still apply.
