Why does a bot ask me to pair a private chat?

Pairing binds a connection to an intended sender and private chat before it accepts tasks.

Pairing binds a connection to an intended sender and private chat before it accepts tasks. Telegram, Discord and Slack use the code displayed by OfficeCubs.

Before you begin

Messaging submits work to an existing desktop teammate. Keep OfficeCubs running, connected to the internet and able to use its AI tool. Check both the provider connection and the task result: a bot connection can be healthy while the selected work engine still needs attention.

Steps

  1. Open the provider connection in the real office.
  2. Copy the current pairing instruction.
  3. Send it to the correct bot in a private conversation.
  4. Wait for confirmation.

When you are setting this up for someone else

The intended recipient should send the pairing command from their own private chat. A developer who pairs their own chat has not connected the other person. WeChat uses a different flow: the intended user scans the QR code with their own account. Read the WeChat connection guide.

Example

Use pair followed by the current code exactly as shown. A code from an earlier setup screen may already be expired or consumed.

Check the result

After pairing, submit a harmless text task and check both the desktop task and bot response.

Limits and troubleshooting

Pairing codes expire after ten minutes and are single use. Pairing another chat revokes the old pairing rather than adding a second authorized chat.
