How can I reduce duplicate output from recurring work?

Design the brief to detect an existing period-specific output and define what a rerun should do. Keep external sending out of an initial automation until file generation is reliable.

Before you begin

Schedules are executed by the desktop app on your computer. The marketplace server does not take over when your laptop sleeps. Test the underlying task manually before scheduling it, and inspect the next run time in the selected timezone after saving or editing the schedule.

Steps

1. Use a reporting-period filename.
2. Request a manifest of inputs and outputs.
3. Choose a policy for existing drafts.
4. Review retries and catch-up runs.

Example

A report task can write a new revision with an explanation when the input changed, and leave the accepted report alone when it did not.

Check the result

Compare repeated runs on the same fixture and look for duplicate rows or conflicting versions.

Limits and troubleshooting

A natural-language duplicate check is not a transactional guarantee. Consequential external actions need their own reliable controls.
