Schedules

How do I keep scheduled inputs current?

A scheduled brief cannot make stale local source files current by itself.

A scheduled brief cannot make stale local source files current by itself. Define who updates the input, when the update completes and how the task should detect missing or outdated data.

Before you begin

Schedules are executed by the desktop app on your computer. The marketplace server does not take over when your laptop sleeps. Test the underlying task manually before scheduling it, and inspect the next run time in the selected timezone after saving or editing the schedule.

Steps

  1. Choose a stable input path.
  2. Include an expected date or freshness field.
  3. Tell the task to stop or flag stale input.
  4. Check the first output’s source period.

Example

For a morning sales draft, require the CSV’s latest transaction date in the report and an explicit warning when it predates the expected export.

Check the result

Compare the reported source timestamp with the file that actually arrived.

Limits and troubleshooting

Do not ask the tool to invent the missing day’s numbers. Data collection and report generation are separate responsibilities.
