How do I connect Slack Socket Mode?

Use the manifest supplied by OfficeCubs and provide both the bot token and Socket Mode app token. They have different roles and are not interchangeable.

Before you begin

Messaging submits work to an existing desktop teammate. Keep OfficeCubs running, connected to the internet and able to use its AI tool. Check both the provider connection and the task result: a bot connection can be healthy while the selected work engine still needs attention.

Steps

1. Copy the ready-made Slack setup from Messaging apps.
2. Create an app from that manifest and install it.
3. Copy the Bot User OAuth Token.
4. Generate an app-level token with connections:write.
5. Verify in OfficeCubs and pair through the app’s Messages tab.

Example

The xoxb token belongs in the bot-token field, while the xapp token belongs in the Socket Mode app-token field.

Check the result

Send a private text task and check that its reply stays in the original Slack message thread.

Limits and troubleshooting

Workspace installation may need administrator approval. Channel posts, message edits and bot posts are not task submissions for this adapter.
